What can an American pickup tow that a LandCruiser or Ranger cannot?
Most Australian wagons and utes are rated to a 3.5 tonne braked maximum. Our Ford Super Duty and RAM Heavy Duty range is rated to 4.5 tonnes on a standard 70 mm ball straight off the lot, and substantially more again in gooseneck and fifth-wheel configurations — while carrying passengers and payload legally at the same time.
Are these trucks legal to drive on an Australian licence?
Yes. Every truck is converted to right-hand drive and certified ADR compliant before delivery. Most of the range is driveable on a standard car licence; we confirm licence class for the heavier cab-chassis models when we quote.
What is the best truck for towing a large horse float?
For two to three horse straight-load and angle-load floats a RAM 2500 or Ford F-250 is comfortable. For four horse or larger gooseneck floats we recommend the RAM 3500 or Ford F-350 and above — stability at weight is what these trucks are built for.
Can I tow construction machinery or a plant trailer?
Yes — plant-hire and construction businesses are a large part of our customer base. RAM 3500, RAM 5500, Ford F-450 and F-550 cab-chassis trucks move excavators, skid steers and site equipment daily, with a GCM of up to 19,000 kg on the RAM 5500.
